"Not your average Joe"
I am walking in memory of the love of my life, Joey Goodbaum. He was the most loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, friend and colleague to so many and he filled each role with such incredible passion and love. He was our rock, and gave us hope and courage as we watched him live each day with unwavering optimism.
We all believed in our hearts and soul that our story would be different and that Joey would beat the horrible odds. But in February, two short months after his diagnosis of Pancreatic Cancer, he passed away at the young age of 57.
Though Joey is no longer here beside us, he is in our hearts, and our family is here to carry on his legacy. We have made it our goal to put our energy into raising funds for this horrific disease so that we can provide hope for those who have the disease or for those yet to be diagnosed.
I will walk 25 kms through the streets of Toronto, with my family and friends by my side (as they have been by my side every step of our journey), united with thousands of others, knowing that together we are changing the future for all those affected by this terrible disease.
Please be a part of my very personal journey in any way you can - by giving, by walking with me, or simply by sharing my story. We have the opportunity to change thousands of lives, beginning with our own.
Thank you in advance,
