Welcome to My Personal Page
OneWalk. One Day. ALL Cancers.
This will be my 11th year walking and the 15th Anniversary of this Walk. Over the years it has changed from The Weekend to End Breast Cancer to The Weekend to End Women's Cancers to the present One Walk to Conquer Cancer. Even though it has changed, my reasons for walking are still strong. I am walking to help find a cure so that in the future no one has to sit in a doctor's office and get the devastating news that so many have had.
I have such wonderful memories of walkers helping each other and residents outside their home cheering us on, giving us water, cookies and chocolate (I do love the chocolate) Each year there are so many great things to remember about the walk. Every year they change the route a little and I am looking forward to seeing the different places of Toronto. I am sure I will enjoy all the places the walk will take me - I get to see so many parts of the city. This past year, we started and ended the walk at Nathan Philips Square which had us weaving our way through some the the downtown area and of course by the hospitals.
On September 9th, 2017, I will walk 25 kms through the streets of Toronto, united with thousands of others, knowing that together we are changing the future for all those affected by this terrible disease. Every year I know the hours of fundraising, sore feet and aching muscles are well worth it as we strive to conquer cancer.
Be a part of my very personal journey - by giving, by walking with me, or simply by sharing my story. I will think of you all as I walk because without your help I would not be able to do this every year. I will remember all of you and those I have walked with in the past and enjoy all the new stories I hear this year.
Thank you for your generosity, your help and most of all your support. I appreciate it.
