CARRYING ON A GREAT MAN'S LEGACY
2018 will be my 15th year walking for a great cause, The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. It will be my ninth year walking with my team Butterfly of Hope and my eighth year of captaining the team. It will, very sadly, be my first year without walking with one of my very best friends, the person who has been by my side (or in front of me) on many, many walks in many cities across the country; my inspiration and role model, Chad Cieslik, aka Papa Butterfly. Chad passed away Jan.23rd, just a few days after we started making plans for our walks this year. After fighting cancer for nine years, it was his heart that gave out in the end. That great big heart! So this year I walk in his memory with our team, the team he founded and the one we have built together.
Please help me to honour this great man and support a cancer care centre which is one of the top five on the planet. Help me to support our incredible researchers who are making great progress in the area of personalized cancer treatments, the families the staff supports in tough times, the state of the art equipment they have helped to develop, the thousands of patients whose lives they are saving every year and the thousands more they will save in the years to come. I can walk the walk. Maybe you can too. If not, a donation will keep me walking - 55 kms this year I hope.
I am asking you to walk with us or to donate to a cause from which I cannot walk away. I hope you won't either.
Thank you for your support. Hugs to all and may you be blessd with great health and happiness in 2018.
